If you want to find the best cold sore cure then you need to remember three things and follow them. These are:
a) Try and destroy the viruses
b) Make the area unsuitable for the viruses
c) nGo for prevention beforehand so that the viruses do not attack
a) Try and destroy the viruses: Alcohol can be the best weapon for you if you want to destroy the viruses. Get a bottle of alcohol and dab a little of it into cotton ball and apply it on the cold sore area. It might hurt a bit but then the viruses will be killed. You can also use oregano oil or garlic oil too in the affected area for killing the viruses. They stay longer and also work really well!
b) Make the area unsuitable for the viruses: Apply an ice pack or use a warm tea bag or cover the area with petroleum jelly. All these three will make the area unsuitable for the viruses to stay. You can also use aloe vera gel for that purpose and it will also help in cold sores cures.
c) Go for prevention beforehand so that the viruses do not attack: Many have got rid of the cold sores by taking calcium, vitamin and mineral supplements. Firstly these help in strengthening your immune system and secondly they help in making the body more alkaline and the viruses cannot sustain in alkaline environment.
