If you are suffering from cold sores, you can easily find a number of over the counter cold sore cures available in the medicine stores. However, it is important to keep certain factors in mind while treating fever blisters. The following are some tips that will help you to get rid of blisters as well as to prevent the herpes virus from regenerating.
- Do not itch or pick the blisters as this can spread the contagious fluid. However, if you are feeling too uncomfortable, apply light pressure on the sore to suppress the itchy symptoms.
- Start taking multi-vitamin supplements and capsules that contain vitamins A and B12, C, folic acid, zinc and iron. This type of supplement is a good source of cold sore medicine.
- Intake foodstuff and supplement that is rich in lysine. Cheese and other diary products are very good source of lysine. It helps to reduce the duration as well as the frequency of the outbreak.
- You can even apply castor oils on the affected area. This oil contains anti-viral properties that help to heal herpes skin conditions. In addition you can also use cornstarch paste and aloe to get immediate result.
- Witch Hazel Oil and Saint John’s Wort Oil are also beneficial for dealing with herpes virus. The later works on your nervous system whereas the former stop the virus straight away in its tracks.
